About Naomi

Naomi Vondell is a Canadian author and screenwriter with deep roots in a richly diverse family. Her heritage reflects Jewish, British (including Scottish and Irish), Mennonite, and French-Canadian influences, all of which shape her unique perspective on storytelling. Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Naomi has spent most of her adult life in Toronto and is planning to relocate to Victoria, BC, in the near future.
Her debut novel, The Second Coming of Grace, a spiritual coming-of-age tale about a Toronto actress discovering her clairsentient abilities, is set to launch in June 2025 and is available for preorder. Alongside her novel, Naomi has written a number of TV spec scripts for shows such as Bull, American Housewife, and Murdoch Mysteries, as well as several original pilots.
Her short story, “The Road to Shambhala,” a whimsical narrative about a vegan spider, was published in the UK magazine Wyldblood in 2021. When she’s not writing, Naomi enjoys sushi, lattes, and cobblestone streets, and looks forward to sharing her home with a couple of cats.
